FOJP's 25th Health Care Risk Management Conference*
Training for Patient Safety and Quality
Wednesday, March 7, 2012
7:30 am - 2:00 pm
Hilton New York
New York City
FOJP's 25th Health
Care Risk Management Conference, Training
for Patient Safety and Quality, focuses on
contemporary training methods that have been
proven effective—spotlighting the idea that
successful training of health care
professionals for patient safety and quality
is predicated on collaboration across
clinical practices. Health care institutions
must shift away from traditional notions of
undergraduate, graduate, and CME training to
inculcate the concept of physicians, nurses,
administrators, and other providers working
together and sharing responsibilities.
A critical objective of
this silver anniversary conference is to
motivate attendees to promote cultural
changes within their institutions, inspiring
high-performance professionals to improve
patient safety and quality of care while
working together to accomplish complex,
difficult tasks. This goal is pursued, in
part, by exploring best practices derived
from high-stress/high-stakes aviation
training, medical simulation, and team-based
learning programs.
